What is copywork?

Copywork is the practice of retyping passages from great authors — word for word, exactly as written. Writers have used it for centuries to absorb rhythm, syntax, and style at a level that reading alone can't reach. When you type Hemingway's sentences, you feel how they move. When you type Didion, you feel the weight of every word she chose not to write.

CopySlate gives you a clean, focused space to do that practice — and tracks your progress as you go.

Installation

1. Download and extract CopySlate_v1.0.zip
2. Open the folder and double-click CopySlate.exe
3. If you see a blue "Windows protected your PC" message, click More info → Run anyway. This appears because CopySlate is independently developed software. It is safe to run. After the first launch, Windows remembers your choice and won't show the warning again.
