TypeSlate is a desktop writing application focused on productivity and focus. We value your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information. This policy explains what data TypeSlate collects, how it is used, and your options regarding your information.

1. Information We Collect

• Writing Session Data: Word count, duration, timestamp, and misspelled word counts (stored locally).
• Machine Identifier: Anonymous hardware-based ID for leaderboard submission.
• Username (Optional): Only if you submit stats to the community.

2. How Your Data Is Used

All statistics are stored locally in a file called stats.db. If you submit data to the TypeSlate community, the following is sent to Google Forms:

• Total word count
• Daily average
• Misspelled words per 100
• Username
• Anonymous machine ID

This data is not sold, tracked, or used for advertising.

3. No Account or Login

No signup is required. You use the app fully offline unless you submit data.

4. Data Storage

Data is saved locally under:

%APPDATA%\TypeSlate

You can delete it any time or use the built-in reset option.

5. Internet Access

TypeSlate only uses the internet when:

• You choose to submit stats
• You click external links like the website or support pages
